AROH’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  1. AROH has carried out community sensitization on HIV/AIDS.
  2. AROH has donated sewing machines to a women’s project in Muguluka.
  3. AROH has received a donation of computers for computer training. And set up two computer training centers.
  4. AROH has received a donation of 13 sewing machines, 3 knitting machines, 10 sets of carpentry tools, and 12 typewriters.
  5. AROH has secured land for school construction; so far one acre and half has been bought and construction for the school is going on.
  6. AROH plans to build an orphanage at Kiboyo and is building another new and better equipped children’s home in Magadda in Mayuge district, in the new center for AROH will include a Hospital which is under construction, a primary school and later a vocational secondary school.
  7. AROH has received donations fro Samaritans purse inform of clothes and has distributed them.
  8. AROH provides scholastic materials to orphans.

  11. The Luke Memorial (Completed)

    Last year a baby died. Another baby. Enough said. There should be no need for babies dying. No matter where they live.This memorial is dedicated to Luke on behalf of all children everywhere.The future of our children is what we as adults leave behind.

    This memorial has become the centerpiece of the people of the community. Church services are now held around a simple place where people can gain life.
  12. Renovation of the AROH School (Completed)

    Recently the headmistress of the school with support from Director Ronald demanded that the children take more care of the school land. This resulted in a clean-up of the school, the land around the school and even more work in the school gardens.
  13. New Borehole (Completed February 2008)

    The borehole on the new AROH land is complete. The borehole will serve the Orphanage, the Health Center and the new school (currently under construction) as well as the local community.
  14. Orphanage Land Toilet Block (Completed January 2008)

    The toilet block was completed in January. It is intended as a temporary structure until we can get funding to provide a pumped water system from the borehole to serve the new school, the orphanage and most importantly the Health Center . Here are the pictures so that you all can see what was built for $800.
  15. Matatu (Completed August 2007)

    AROH though a large donation bought the bus (Matatu) which over time will help finance the welbeing of the children. The bus drives between Jinja and Kampala and can make over $ 100 a week after expenses. The intent in the long run is for AROH to find a way to be self sufficient in all the works that we do.
  16. First New Orphanage Building (Completed November 2007)

    Really good news. The first new Orphanage Building is complete. After the new year 12 to 18 orphan children will occupy the new building to begin a new life in the care of people who will help them move forward in their lives. The second building is close to completion.
  17. Toilet Block (Completed January 2007)

    It may seem like a minor issue but the first project undertaken at the new school was the toilet block. AROH in their education program teach the children that cleanliness is important.
  18. The Lunch Shelter and Kitchen in memory of Tom Plunkett (Completed)

    The AROH meal a day program works because now we have a kitchen to cook from and ensure the kids get one good meal a day.
